Your immigration journey. Visible every step of the way.
At Simple Legal Consulting (SLC), we are introducing the new website for Wayfinder Immigration Law Firm, our dedicated immigration practice in Costa Rica. Available in English and Spanish, the site puts a practical commitment at the centre of our service: clients should understand how their case is being managed and what comes next.
Understand the process before making a commitment
Choosing an immigration lawyer in Costa Rica is an important decision. Our new website lets you explore how we work before retaining our firm:
See a sample client case and timeline to understand how documents, dates, appointments and next steps are organised.
Review the immigration process, including the five stages of a residency file and indicative timeframes.
Explore the document checklist to understand what you will need to prepare for an application.
Once your case begins, we organise the work around a personalised roadmap with clear milestones, document requirements, appointments and next steps. You can see what has been completed and what remains outstanding.
“Our objective is simple: you should always understand where your case stands, what has been completed, and what happens next,” says Herman Duarte, founder of Simple Legal Consulting.
This approach is designed to help clients feel better prepared and more at ease. Immigration decisions remain with the Costa Rican authorities. Our commitment is to make the legal process we manage as transparent, organised and understandable as possible.
Compare Costa Rica residency options
The website allows you to compare immigration categories and explore dedicated guides to eight immigration and citizenship pathways: the digital nomad visa, investor residency, rentista residency, pensionado residency, family residency, executives and specialised workers, permanent residency and naturalisation.
Each guide explains the documents, expected costs, indicative timelines and common problems that can affect an application, together with the steps that follow approval.
Clear fees and practical support
Our professional fees and the scope of work are agreed in writing before filing. Third-party expenses, including translations and apostilles, are identified separately and passed through at cost.
The website also brings together an after-approval guide, frequently asked questions about residency and everyday life, and local recommendations. Visitors coming to meet us can explore our guide to the area around the office.
For those who find their way
Wayfinder reflects the people we work with: those who explore alternatives and take an active role in choosing the life they want to build. Their reasons may include a different environment for their family, a changing political climate, retirement or the opportunity to begin again.
Some are ready to move now. Others are considering a change several years ahead. Our role is to help them understand their legal options and turn those plans into clear next steps.
“People come to us with an idea of the life they want to build,” Duarte says. “They choose the direction. Our role is to explain the legal possibilities, help them prepare and make the next step clear.”
